Schiphol, October 10, 2024 – Bos Logistics and Air France KLM Martinair Cargo take a major step toward sustainability with a fully electric truck. On Wednesday, October 9, Bos Logistics welcomed a brand-new, fully electric truck, the VOLVO FH Electric. This truck symbolizes the joint efforts of both companies to reduce their environmental footprint.

Less traffic and emissions at Schiphol
This new truck, which will proudly bear the branding of both Bos Logistics and Air France KLM Martinair Cargo, marks a milestone in the partnership. The vehicle is immediately operational and plays a crucial role in Bos Logistics’ “door-to-door” service, transporting consolidated cargo from Air France KLM Martinair Cargo to various air freight agents. This new approach has already led to a reduction in movements on the grounds of Air France KLM Martinair Cargo and Schiphol, which has significantly reduced emissions. Now it is time for the next step.
Joint sustainability ambition
The move toward a fully electric truck stems from the shared ambition of both companies to further enhance the sustainability of the logistics chain. This process began earlier with the switch from conventional fuels to HVO100, a biofuel that reduces CO2 emissions by up to 90% for the trucks operating on behalf of Air France KLM Martinair Cargo.
“With the introduction of this electric truck, we are reinforcing our commitment to a more sustainable future,” said Frank Bos Jr., Managing Director of Bos Logistics. “This vehicle contributes to reducing our CO2 emissions and is an important step in promoting sustainable logistics.”
Koen Bolster, Vice President of KLM Cargo Worldwide Operations, adds: “The deployment of a fully electric truck underscores our determination to make the logistics chain more sustainable wherever possible. Together with Bos Logistics, we are taking an important step today toward cleaner logistics, further strengthening our joint position as leaders in the sector.”
The debut of the new truck was marked by a celebratory event at Air France KLM Martinair Cargo. This event, which celebrated the introduction of the electric truck, underscores both companies’ pride in their long-standing partnership and shared sustainability goals.

Next Steps
Bos Logistics and Air France KLM Martinair Cargo are committed to working together to improve the logistics sector and realize a greener future. With the addition of the electric truck to their fleet, both companies will further enhance the sustainability of their daily operations and further reduce their environmental impact.
The implementation of the electric truck is just the beginning. Both Air France KLM Martinair Cargo and Bos Logistics remain committed to innovative and environmentally friendly solutions and look forward with confidence to making their logistics operations even more sustainable.
