We recently put the first electric Volvo trucks into service. The electric trucks are being used for first- and last-mile deliveries at Schiphol Airport to handle cargo for our partner DSV. We also immediately took the opportunity to test the Mercedes E-Actros for two weeks.
Volvo FH Electric
Bos Logistics has chosen the Volvo FH Electric with 490 kW (or 667 actual horsepower!). This truck features a robust 540 kWh battery pack, which should enable a range of 300 km per charge. In combination with a growing network of (truck!) charging stations, we are cautiously taking our first steps into electric transport.
Reducing the CO2 footprint in the first and last mile
Our ambition is to play a leading role in reducing the CO2 footprint in the first and last miles of the distribution chain. We have already explored and implemented various initiatives to achieve this ambition. In addition to electric trucks, we are implementing the use of alternative fuels such as LNG and HVO 100 in specialized trucks. We also offer an HVO 100 option to our distribution network.
TULIPS Consortium Bos Logistics
recently joined the TULIPS Consortium. Our ambition is to play a leading role in reducing the CO2 footprint in first- and last-mile distribution. By purchasing electric Volvo trucks, we are accelerating the implementation and innovation of sustainable technologies and reducing emissions at airports.
